The first major issue in Division One was sorted out last night as Herbrandston were relegated following that 8-0 home defeat to Hakin.

Herbie's display seemed like that of a side already resigned to their fate, but they do have reason to feel harshly done by. They had worked hard to pull themselves back from the brink when the West Dragons folded, a development that cost them six points in the table, and ultimately, their place in the top flight.

It means Milford United survive, barring any re-structure of the leagues. The irony was manager Adrian Hutchings had already begun blooding more youngsters in readiness for Division Two until the demise of the Dragons gave them a lifeline. But all season long they have refused to capitulate, and only a lack of a cutting edge stopped them gathering more points. And when they were given a lifeline - they took it.

Hakin meanwhile, continue to gather momentum, with Nicky Woodrow back in full flow up front. They trail Goodwick by three points with three games in hand - but they now face games tomorrow, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You would back them to win at Neyland - but they are likely to be without Daniel Armstrong and Jake Merry after both were injured last night.

I don't envisage problems for the team they are chasing either, Goodwick United, who go to Angle. You sense the home side are hanging on for the end of the season, and the Phoenix Boys should be fresh after more than a week without a game.

It's hard to predict an outcome at Jesse Road, where Narberth meet Clarbeston Road.

The Bluebirds have picked up again recently with wins over Angle and Neyland - and Clarbie face a big task to pick themselves up after the Senior Cup final. To lose in that manner would have been humbling, but they are a tight knit group and a top four finish is still not beyond them.

Bridge won 3-0 at Monkton last Friday and face another tricky trip tomorrow. Realistically The Wizards must win every game now, starting with revenge at Lamphey who beat them 4-1 earlier this month.

But that came off the back of a turbulent 48 hours for Bridge, and while it won't be easy, I think they will get through this one.

Another tough one to call comes at Monkton Lane, where the Swifts host third placed Carew.

Monkton have slipped of late with three straight defeats - but they have come against the three main title contenders. The Rooks are finishing well after four wins on the bounce, and I'll back them to edge this.

But with all the fixtures tomorrow - much may come down to fatigue and the availability of players as the packed schedule continues.
