Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division One:

Neyland 0-6 Hakin United

HAKIN United were too strong for Neyland in every department as The Vikings eased to a six-goal victory at the Athletic Ground on Saturday.

However it was The Nomads who should have opened the scoring when Mike Chandler’s shot struck Adrian Devonald’s post.

But minutes later and The Vikings took the lead when Bradley Barrett scored with a sweetly struck left footed volley, the goal was set up by Jack Wilson’s cross that was headed into the goalmouth by Nicky Woodrow, and the left back let fly.

Midway through the first period and Jack Wilson rifled home a first time shot that was set-up by namesake Ryan.

The Vikings continued to press and Kristan Bennett’s were rewarded with further goals through Woodrow, Justin Harding, Shane Walsh and Adam John.

It means Hakin are top of the table on goal difference from Goodwick United, who play Carew tonight. The Vikings though, still have two games in hand.

  • On Monday night Hakin backed up this result with another massive 12-0 win over Penna - taking them back top of the table on goal difference. Ben Fawcett struck four times, there were braces for Jack Wilson and Nicky Woodrow, and further goals from Ben Steele, Justin Harding, Adam John, and Shane Walsh. Merlins Bridge meanwhile, kept their faint title hopes alive with a 3-0 home win over Clarbeston Road. Adam Hawkins gave them the lead, with Dai Davies and Joe Leahy also striking.
