Pembrokeshire Youth were able to celebrate winning the Wynne Lloyd Inter District Youth Cup Final at Parc Y Scarlets on Sunday - but only after holding off a thrilling fightback from Ceredigionshire.
The county led 26-7 at half time, only to find themselves 28-26 down in the closing stages.
But a penalty from Whitland’s Dan Evans nudged them back ahead by a point, before Cole Barry sealed the win a minute from time with a try that Evans converted.
Other tries were scored by Jack Tucker, Gino Setaro, Geraint Powell, and Jack Broadhurst, with Evans notching 11 points with the boot.
The game was refereed by Nigel Owens, who said afterwards: “Well that’s me done and dusted for the season and what a great game of rugby to finish with.”
