John Probert was at his best on another cracking night for Pembroke ABC in Bargoed.

Young Probert made it two wins on the trot when he beat the very stylish Robert Gale of Grange Cardiff. The Cardiff Boxer looked determined at the start but John, who has improved in recent bouts, was stronger, fitter and had answers for everything his opponent tried.

He controlled the centre of the ring and was aggressive on the front foot - although he didn’t have it all his own way, and had to work hard to maintain his deserved lead.

John will hope to keep this great form going into The Welsh Championships in June.

Debutants Tom Mills and Bradley Turner got their career off to a flying start, both coming away with winners’ trophies.  The Pembroke Boxers looked very comfortable at long range, but had to work hard in the clinches.
Coach John Probert (Senior) was thrilled with all three Boxers, with lessons learned and confidence high, it’s onto the next.

On a separate show Neil John avenged a recent loss to Evan Maddox, taking a unanimous decision. It could have been better if the bell hadn’t come to the rescue of Maddox in the second round - but it was another assured performance from Neil who is improving all the time.
