This year’s insport Series event was held at Pembroke Leisure Centre on Friday, June 29th.

Hosted by Sport Pembrokeshire, the event was in partnership with Snowdrop Independent Living, Disability Sport Wales, Get Out Get Active (GOGA) and Pembrokeshire Leisure.

Previously the event was held on a Sunday however this year it was moved to a Friday to engage both schools and the community.

The move was a success with over 180 participants attending.

Some schools also arranged for parents to attend and identify which clubs their children could join after having a try.

The following clubs delivered taster sessions: Scarlets Wheelchair Rugby, Welsh Rugby Union Tag Rugby, Pembrokeshire Hurricanes Wheelchair Basketball, FF Dance Academy, Tenderfoots Boccia & New Age Kurling, Wisemans Bridge Rowing, Cerebral Palsy Race Running, Table Tennis Wales, Modern Print, Kilgetty 1.77 and Value Independence Target Shooting, Bike Mobility,  Strength Academy Wales Power Lifting with Athletics, Sport Start, Cricket and Golf delivered by Sport Pembrokeshire.

Local Wheelchair Motocross (WCMX) Adaptive Skate Champion and world number two, Lily Rice attend the event to promote the sport and show footage of her skills.

There was also an opportunity for the participants to find out more about the GOGA programme and become more active outside on their doorstep and try activities such as climbing, surfing, walking, cycling sailing.

Michelle Daltry the Partnership Manager from Disability Sport Wales said: “This was very good event, well attended and supported by local & regional clubs.

“Most importantly, the event had a good feel about it and no doubt the schools, parents and carers that attended will be encouraged to come and make links with local clubs for their children”
