Pembrokeshire football fixtures for Saturday, March 16th:
Division 1 (2.30pm):
Carew 4-1 Neyland
Carew's unbeaten run in all competitions now goes back to November 17th, and with wins at Goodwick United and in the Senior Cup semi final this past week, they are in serious form.
Even with the games in hand they would need a big collapse from Monkton to catch them, but Rob Scourfield and Jeremy Griffiths won't want any momentum lost.
Neyland have had a mixed season plagued by availability problems at times, but they have been involved in two tight contests lately -beating Clarbie 5-4 then losing to Pennar 2-1.
There may be a bit of fatigue from the Meadow on Tuesday, but hard to see past Carew here.
Clarbeston Road 3-3 St Clears
Two sides who didn't play last week.
The season is almost done for Clarbie with just four games left, but Matthew Ellis will want a win having not tasted one since February 9th. St Clears won 6-2 against Herbie a fortnight ago.
Both teams have goal scorers with Jason Griffiths incredbily searching for a fourth hat trick in five games, while it was Will Evans who had a hat trick in that Herbie win for the Saints. Steve Thomas has also enjoyed a good season in front of goal.
So I don't see a 0-0 here, but can't pick a clear winner either.
Hakin United 2-2 Merlins Bridge
Meeting number three of the season, and they won't be done after this.
In terms of the title race even if Hakin win all six games in hand they will still be six points behind Monkton, Bridge four if they win all theirs.
The weather looks adverse for tomorrow and The Vikings really stood up in those conditions to beat Goodwick in the West Wales Cup, but Bridge did the same in their tie that day so I can't see the weather favouring either.
As always between these two it will be full on and intense, and probably close as well. My hunch is both will end up frustrated by a draw.
Herbrandston 2-3 Saundersfoot Sports
Although they didn't win it, Saundersfoot surprised a few people last week by pushing Monkton all the way on Saturday.
Prior to that they had endured a ropey few weeks but that will give them the confidence to go to Herbie and perform.
Unfrotunately for Sean Thomas' Herbie team their fate looks sealed now, they need a minimum of 10 points in six games to have any chance and with just two (and one of those deducted) from their previous 18 I'd say mission impossible now.
This is a game they can win, especially if Scott Reid fires, but they have got into a losing habit and that is hard to break.
Monkton Swifts 3-2 Goodwick United
Suddenly, Monkton have a seven point lead and are in touching distance - but Joe Lewis and co will know that four big tests in front of them remain.
This is the first of them. Goodwick's season has lost momentum, out of the West Wales Cup and beaten last week by Carew. To have any chance of fighting for the title, they simply have to win here.
Monkton struggled past Saundersfoot last week but it gets like that at this stage - you sometimes have to grind out wins and it's results only that matter.
These two met at Monkton Lane in the Senior Cup and the home side won 3-2. I'll go for the same tomorrow.
Pennar Robins 2-1 Milford United
Pennar gave a good account of themselves against Carew on Tuesday but getting up for this will be tough given they now have little to play for.
Milford also are as good as safe and Adrian Hutchings can take a lot of pride in the way his team have improved over the course of the season.
They made it tough for Bridge last week and I can see them pushing Pennar hard too. But home advantage may away it.
