The Pembrokeshire footballing community has been saddened to hear about the recent passing of Bernard Steer after a dignified battle with cancer.
Bernard was a popular goalkeeper coach who had passed on his knowledge and skills to many local youngsters through his connections with Tenby AFC, Pembrokeshire Schools FA, Haverfordwest County Academy and Carmarthen Town Academy
His funeral in Telford was attended by family and friends as well as representative from Welsh Schools FA, Swansea Schools FA and Swansea City.
A celebration of his life was held at Tenby Golf Club where around a hundred people shared their memories of Bernard.
There were representatives from Tenby AFC, Pembrokeshire Schools FA, Pembrokeshire Women’s and Girls League, Pembrokeshire College Sports Department and past and present players from Haverfordwest Academy and Carmarthen Town Academy.
