Lee is top of chops

10:03am Wednesday 25th June 2008

Noontide ju-jitsu club in Pembroke Dock recently held its presentation evening for members who had successfully passed their belt grading and junior members who had shown outstanding effort and enthusiasm.

Noontide is a traditional form of ju-jitsu involving self-defence, grappling and ground-fighting.

The club had previously stopped meeting for a few months following the death of it's grandmaster, David Parry, but has now returned to regular training.

In memory of the sad loss of Dai Parry, the club also presented a memorial trophy in his name. The trophy was presented to newly-qualified purple belt, Lee Thompson, as the most dedicated junior member.

W. P. Lewis and Son, Vauxhall dealership at Greenfield garage, donated the trophy.

The club meets every Sunday at 6pm to 8pm at St John's Community Hall in Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, and new members are welcome.

Club insurance is through the National Amateur Martial Association (AMA), all instructors are CRB checked and the training is carried out on a fully padded floor.

Come along on a training evening if you are interested or contact Marcus Scharf on 07765 858912 or Andy James on 07901 558281.
