Whitland (55 all out) lost to Haverfordwest 60 for 1).
A superb piece of off-spin bowling by captain Nick Dyer helped Haverfordwest move just a short step away from the league crown.
He decimated the young Whitland batsmen with a seven for four stint that reduced them to 55 all out. The collapse was even more stark because at one stage Whitland stood at 35 for one before Dyer showed why he has represented Scotland in the World Cup.
Dyer removed Paul Webb, who was well caught by keeper Huw Scriven for 15 and Paul Davies for 16 to start the collapse after earlier pouching a catch to shift opener Dave Lee off South African Avron Roulston’s bowling.
He then had five maidens supported by spin twin Clive Tucker with two for 18.
Whitland captain Mark Lee battled away for an undefeated 13, but a final tally of 55 was very disappointing.
The Town endured a couple of scares as rain swept in, but Whitland efficiently covered the track and Danny Potter launched Haverfordwest with 35 runs, including four fours and a six, before he was bowled by Iestyn Scourfield.
But it was to be the only home victim as Richard James carried his bat for 12 runs and Karl Rhead launched a big six to secure an extra batting point as he also finished on 12 not out.
