Pennar Robins 3.
Kilgetty 0.
Pennar Robins put their narrow defeat to Hakin United in mid-week behind them on Saturday, gaining a comfortable three-goal win over newly- promoted Kilgetty.
The division one newcomers have enjoyed an impressive start in the Pembrokeshire top flight with two wins out of two at home, but they got unstuck on their travels against a strong Robins side.
The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute. Robins’ Darren Shaw set up in-form Phil Thompson, who rounded Kilgetty keeper David Lewis and slotted the ball into the back of the net, for his third goal in two games.
In the second half, the Robins continued to dominate, but the Kilgetty defence resisted the Robins pressure until the 70th minute.
Referee Sean O’Connor pointed to the spot after Kilgetty were penalised for handling in the box, and Robins Wayne Brunton stepped up to take the penalty, making no mistake.
The victory was finally assured for the Robins in the 80th minute with a second for Brunton, this time getting on the end of a long ball before powering his shot into the back of the net.
Robins’ manager, Chris Lloyd, said: "I am delighted at the way we have responded so positively following the defeat in midweek."
