Sports-mad twin brothers Samuel and Lewys Thomas, aged nine, from Croesgoch, finished off a busy summer of tennis, successfully competing at the National finals, in Cardiff, recently.
Throughout the summer they’ve competed across south Wales in qualifying events, gaining enough points to reach the finals where only the top 16 gain entry.
On finals day, both played extremely well reaching the semi-finals where Lewys lost a close game. However, Samuel did well to be crowned champion, winning a one-sided final 6-0.
Lewys picked himself up to win the third place play off.
The boys are members of Fishguard tennis club and are also part of the county squad under head coach John Deason and John Royles.
Proud parents Ifan and Sarah are now preparing for an even busier winter where tennis commitments must compete with football, as the boys also play for Solva under-tens.
