Seasiders sunk by late kick

Dinas Powys 16.

Tenby United 13.

A late penalty from centre Rhys Williams was enough to edge Dinas Powys to victory over a Tenby United team which played well in parts but was never able to secure the platform for victory.

Tom Lewis kicked the Seasiders into an early lead with a penalty but Williams levelled matters before Dinas Powys managed the only try of the half from outside centre David Lloyd, converted by Williams to lead 10-3 at the interval.

Williams increased the lead with his second penalty but Tenby showed resilience as replacement John Lewis powered over for a try which Tom Lewis goaled and added a penalty to have the teams sharing 26 points and the game drawing to a close.

But then Tenby were deemed to have transgressed near their own 22 and up popped Rhys Williams to slot his third penalty – and dump the disconsolate Seasiders out of the competition.
