Elliott to miss three games.

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Derek Brazil said that he was not going to decide what action to take over Gareth Elliott’s sending off until he had reviewed the video of the incident.

Brazil said: “Gareth plays with his heart on his sleeve, but if he has gone in and done the lad, we will deal with it in-house. The biggest thing for me is that he will miss three games.”

Elliott was given a straight red for an incident over what appeared to be a 50/50 ball just before half-time against Welshpool.

“We both went in for the ball,” Gareth said, “and the referee said I appeared to catch Gareth Hughes as we were down. I didn’t intend to do anything, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I have to accept the ref’s decision.”

Elliott will miss the Welsh Cup trip to Pontypridd Town, the Loosemore’s Cup game against Aberystwyth and the visit to the Bridge Meadow of League leaders TNS.

On Friday, October 24th at 7.30pm the Supporters’ Association is hosting a fan forum with the Derek Brazil, Mark Evans and Derek Roberts, in the Legends Bar. This is your chance to ask questions, express opinions, and find out about the way the teams are run. Entry is free and there will be a raffle. Fans of all ages are invited to attend.

Forthcoming fixtures.

The Bluebirds are away to Pontypridd Town in the second round of the Welsh cup this coming Saturday. Anyone interested in making the trip to see the Bluebirds in action, get in touch with Eddie Bunston at the club on 01437 769048. The cost of the trip is £10 for members and £13 for non-members. Following that, there are two home games against Aberystwyth in the Loosemore’s Cup on October 7th and against TNS in the league on October 10th. Both games kick off at 7.30pm. County have won their last three games, scoring seven goals and conceding only one.
