Whitland 15 - Bonymaen 15
Bonymaen’s number eight Duane Eager scored an injury time converted try to gain a draw at Whitland on Saturday.

The home side looked as though they would finish the season on a winning note, but it wasn’t to be.

Whitland led 9-3 at half time. Three penalties were kicked by outside half Carwyn Jones and his opposite number Ian Brooks added one to keep the visitors in contention.

Jones added penalties in the 44th and 78th minutes to give the Borderers a 15-3 cushion.

As the hosts kept their finger off the pulse, Bonymaen’s winger Robbie Ford crossed for what seemed a consolation try.

However, deep in injury time and Bonymaen’s number 8 Eager pounced for Bonymaen’s second try and Brooks added insult to injury by kicking the conversion.

Borderers’ narrow defeat at CorusIn midweek Whitland travelled to Corus and narrowly lost 26-25 in a titanic tussle.

The visitors led 11-15 at the break, but the hosts got the bit between their teeth and come the final whistle they just nicked the result.

Whitland prop Craig Kelly and winger Christiaan Roets grabbed first half tries for the visitors and outside half Jonathan Thomas added a conversion and penalty.

Corus winger Chris Hooper grabbed a try in each half for the hosts. Full back Rhys Williams kicked three penalties and converted Chris McDonald’s late try to win it.
