Bradshaw boosts triumphant Tish

St Ishmaels (206 for 7) drew with Whitland (122 for 8)
St Ishmaels had by far the better of the draw against Whitland but secured all the bonus points as some consolation as they reached 206 for 7 and Whitland struggled to 122 for 8.

Only Paul Davies looked settled out of the regular Whitland run getters. There was a rearguard action from skipper Mark Lee and Paul Webb at the end but it wasn’t enough to move Whitland out of the bottom two in the table.

Tish skipper Peter Bradshaw led the way for the home side with a powerful 74 (eight fours), well supported by Jonathan Pawlett (41, including five fours) and Andrew Williams 37 (one six), while Phil Cockburn stayed undefeated on 19 at the end, as Matthew ‘Titch’ Davies, took 4 for 61 in the Whitland cause.

Paul Davies had three fours in his 31 but was shifted by Stewart Kimpton, with the aid of a good Gareth Cheshire catch.

Daniel Flynn started to cause real problems with his canny off-spinners in a 6 for 28 spell from a 12 over spell, where he varied both pace and flight well.

His haul included a sharp return catch to get rid of Johnny Thomas and it was left to skipper Mark Lee (10 not out) to join veteran all-rounder Paul Webb (19 not out) to stop Tish winning with some sound defence towards the end.
