Local organisations benefit

Milford Haven Port Authority’s community support committee continues to assist local organisations The support committee (CSC) comprises of volunteers from across the organisation and regularly supports local clubs, organisations and charities.

Tenby Sailing Club recently received funding to support hosting of the national junior sailing championships in July. With more than 100 boats and around 130 sailors, aged between eight and 18 years, this is the second year the club will be hosting this large event.

The funding will go towards providing safety cover vessels and trophies for the prize giving.

Lisa Evans will be representing Wales in the veteran Commonwealth Games, being held in Jersey next month.

Lisa was awarded funding through the CSC towards her travel and accommodation costs.

She will be joining competitors from across Wales and hopes to move up the British rankings for both team and individual performances.

Chairman of the CSC and deputy harbourmaster, Bill Hirst said: “It is fantastic that we are able to support such a range of local organisations and events.

“We are committed to supporting the local community and these allocations of funding enable us to assist groups in the fantastic work they are doing.”
