Pembroke Dock and Carew students took part in a karate course and kumite (sparring) competition recently, held at Tenby leisure centre, where more than 40 students participated.
Instructors for the day were Sensei Graham Thomas, 5th Dan; Martin Morgan, 3rd Dan; Paul Rogers, 2nd Dan; Tony D’Arcy, 1st Dan and Stephen Walters 1st Dan. All were involved in the pre competition training, assisting students with their techniques and strategy.
Results: Boys and girls five and six years: 1, Kyle Jennings, 2, Alex Bowel, 3, Lewis Bowel, 4, James Davies.
Boys and girls seven,eight and nine years: Sophie Thomas, Evan Sheldon, Joseph Sivaprakasam, Grace Thompson.
Seven, eight and nine years - 7th kyu and above: 1, Angharad Boswell, Ryan Christopher, Thomas Boswell, 4, Bryan Davies.
Girls’ ten-12 years - 7th kyu and above: Ffion Cadogan, 2, Abi Goodrick-Latham, 3, Niamh Pugh, 4, Katey Briskham.
Boys: 1, Rhys Parsell, 2, Ryan Edwards, 3, Elliot John, 4, Peter Orchard.
Men’s: Paul Rodgers, 2, Ian Williams, 3, John Cressey, 4, Lynn Christopher.
