Carew (166 for 4) beat Neyland (161 for 8)
Ian Sefton showed what an asset he can be to Carew as he produced an all-round performance which helped his side go top of the table after they had beaten Neyland by six wickets.
Sefton took two early catches, including the vital one to help remove Neyland skipper Andrew Miller. He then came on as the fifth home bowler and grabbed three wickets, followed by a rampaging 93 not out, as Carew won with wickets and overs aplenty to spare.
Neyland will regret having dropped him when he had scored only five runs because he belted five fours and four sixes as he carried his bat and helped his team pick up a vital 29 points.
Scott John led the way for Neyland as they batted first, with four fours and two sixes in his 70 before the ubiquitous Sefton had him well caught by Ceri Brace in a 3 for 33 spell.
Andrew Miller (17) and Nick Koomen (22) but no-one else was able to join John for a long enough period to build a really big score, as Rob Scourfield and Tim Hicks were the other Carew wicket-takers.
Carew started their reply strongly as Nick Scourfield joined Sefton in another excellent opening partnership of 92, before Henry Durrant had Scourfield caught by Scott John, having struck six boundaries in his 42 runs.
Wayne Cannon (14) and Tim Hicks, who blasted two fours and a six in his speedy 16, helped Sefton as he smashed four big sixes and five fours. So although Durrant and Jay Dunsford shared four wickets, it was Sefton who was still there at the end to steer his side home.
