Robins soar home

Goodwick United 0
Pennar Robins 2
Pennar Robins bagged two-second half goals to secure an excellent victory over stunned Goodwick United at Phoenix Park.

Last week Goodwick stole a late point at champions Hakin United, but this week, Bernie Armstrong’s Goodwick outfit found it hard to get out of first gear.

The chirpy Robins moved up to third in the table while Goodwick slipped down to seventh.

Pennar’s double manager act Chris Lloyd and Gavin Southcott were happy that the scoreline remained goalless at half time.

The visitors didn’t have to wait long before they broke the deadlock, Andrew Green slotted the ball past outstretched Goodwick keeper Carl Woodhouse.

The hosts failed to really test the visitors’ defence and midway through the second period Wayne Brunton scored with a terrific strike to wrap up the points.
