Rock bottom Swifts beaten by high-flying Bluebirds

Monkton Swifts 1
Haverfordwest County 5

George showed the kind of form that earned him international recognition a few seasons ago.

The visitors built-up a two-goal cushion at the break and dominated proceedings in the second period, to claim their seventh win of the season that moves them up to third place in the league. The Swifts’ difficult season continued as they now currently sit rock bottom.

Ricky Watts’ low hard 30-yard screamer gave the visitors the lead. The teenager has been on the bench lately for the Welsh Premier outfit and he is definitely a talent for the future. George struck low and hard for his side’s second. Shortly after the break and Jonathan Clarke added a third from inside the box. George made no mistake with the fourth, with a terrific right-footed strike.

The Swifts gained a consolation goal scored by Daniel Scourfield from the penalty spot, but the visitors had the final say as Luke Robinson showed good technique to score with his chest.
