The Pembrokeshire Puffins disability-swimming club recently held its annual award evening at the Haverfordwest cricket club.
More than 30 swimmers enjoyed the evening along with guests who have helped the club over the past year, plus representatives of Pembrokeshire Climbs Kilimanjaro and Pembrokeshire bike-riders and Milford Haven Port Authority, who have all provided generous financial support.
The main purpose of the event was to acknowledge the efforts during 2009 of the swimmers, most of whom have learning disabilities, with awards for all, plus special awards for the most improved swimmers.
Pembrokeshire Puffins swimmers will be taking part in a sponsored swim at the Pembroke leisure centre on May 9th.
The Puffins thanked the support of MPs Stephen Crabb, Nick Ainger, Haverfordwest Town Council, Angela Miles, Pembrokesshire County Council disability development officer, Ann Adams and Haverfordwest leisure centre for staging the annual gala.
