Preddy double strike earns Bluebirds derby victory

Mike Preddy scored a goal in each half to secure derby victory over Prendergast Villa at the Bridge Meadow.

The visitors got off to a dream start when striker Joe John capitalised on confusion in the Bluebirds’ box to score with his head.

Preddy equalised around the 35th minute. The striker received an inch perfect ball from Jonathan Clark in the box, and instinctively buried his right-footed effort in the bottom left-hand corner.

The home side began to get on top in the second period, and were rewarded when Nicky Woodrow scored a header from a corner. Preddy added a third ten minutes from full time to seal victory.
