Four sent off at Herbrandston

2:50pm Thursday 18th March 2010

Herbrandston 2
Solva 3

This game will be remembered for all the wrong reasons as Herbrandston came second best and finished the game with eight players.

Anthony Patterson received his marching orders around the hour mark, but near the final whistle Adrian Rees, Martin Langdon and Alex Ouzman all saw red as tempers boiled over.

The visitors defeated Herbie last week and were two up with barely five minutes on the clock. Charlie Syme and Matt Harries both slotted past goalkeeper Martin Langdon to stun Steve Batty’s Herbie troops.

However, the home side pulled a goal back through Alex Ouzman to make it 1-2 at the interval. When the home side were down to ten-men Langdon scored a penalty to square matters.

Ten minutes from full time and Gareth Thomas restored the visitors’ lead when he made no mistake from the penalty spot and ensured Peter Cole’s Solva outfit completed the double over troubled Herbie.

Annoyed Herbie manager Steve Batty said: “The refereeing decisions in our last two matches has been abysmal.”
