Ted Sexton Haverfordwest CC
Haverfordwest Cricket Club lost one of its senior members this week with the passing of Ted Sexton, who was known throughout the county for his batting and wicket-keeping skills.
Ted came to the county with the Air Force and was soon heavily involved, alongside his late wife Rita, in the social side of the Haverfordwest club, as well as being highly respected as a player.
His sons Mark and Alan also became top players at The Town and Ted was rightly regarded as a gentleman, both on and off the field. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mark and Alan, plus their families, at their sad loss.
Tony Ansell – Carew CC
Members of Carew Cricket Club were saddened this week to lose Tony Ansell, who was born and bred in the village and had done so much work on the ground at Carew.
He was a regular supporter of the cricket team with his wife Betty, John and Jill Donnachie and the rest of the supporters in the far corner of the ground. His son Barry was a very good wicket-keeper batsman at the club and heartfelt condolences go to Betty, Barry, Trudy, Tracy and their families at this sad time.
