Pembrokeshire College’s estates department has donated an outdoor PA system to local running club Pembrokeshire Harriers.

The club will make good use of the kit at future events in the county and save on hiring costs.

Peter Freeman, club chairman, said: “We’ve been hiring PA equipment from the college for many years to assist with our events. Each year over 900 primary schoolchildren attend the Oakwood cross-country races and the equipment is invaluable.

“We are really grateful to the College for donating the kit to us.”

A number of Harriers are currently studying a sports diploma at the college.

Zoe Priestley, 18, from Tenby, is a Welsh champion javelin athlete who came third in the British Schools championships.

Heather Lewis, 18, from Narberth, is Welsh athletics 3000m walk champion.

Matt Richards, 18, from Camrose, is a junior GB international and Welsh 400 metre under 20 champion.
