Kidwelly 40-24 Crymych

Division two west - Kidwelly, as the formbook suggested, were too strong for Cymych who did have the consolation of picking up a bonus point.

Yet such a prospect seemed unlikely as the Preseli Men were caught cold early on and Kidwelly claimed tries from full back Dafydd Lewis (2), flanker Richard Gravell (2), wingers Aaron Worrall and Chris Moore, with two conversions and two penalties by outside half Richard Walters.

Crymych grabbed tries from centre Carwyn Phillips and left winger Nick Bevan, one converted by scrum half Rhys Davies.

But whatever coaches Lyn Williams and Elgan Vittle said at half time it worked because the Preseli men tightened up their defence and added further tries from outside half Gareth Davies and flanker Tom Powell, with Rhys Davies again landing one conversion.

Kidwelly won 17-10 at Parc Lloyd Thomas, but Crymych showed tremendous character despite suffering a 13th defeat of the season.
