Pembroke youth 8-27 Haverfordwest youth 27

Under 18 Griffiths Cup - Haverfordwest Youth showed their prowess when they travelled across the Cleddau Bridge and defeated their counterparts from Pembroke.

The match showed the quality that is there in both camps.

This popular competition for under 18 players is being played on a league basis to discover the finalists for the traditional final at Neyland.

The action was fast and furious before the Blues outlasted their opponents to run in good tries from centre Darian Edwards, hooker Ashley George, scrum half Ben Llewellin and winger Connor Bashford.

There was also a conversion apiece for Ben Llewellin and outside half Liam Maggs, who also slotted a penalty.

For the Scarlets, George James claimed their try and there was a penalty from Mark Jones, but in the final analysis they were unable to match Haverfordwest’s better all-round play.
