Neyland 16-17 Llangwm

Seconds rugby - LLANGWM seconds moved into the Pembs Junior Union final with a narrow win over Neyland at the Athletic Club.

Llangwm edged through 17-16 after trailing 16-10 at half time against their local rivals.

The Wasps were ahead early on when centre Robbie Neil burst through for a try converted by Richard Scriven.

The veteran then added another three points with the boot - but the All Blacks second string fought back to move into a six point lead at the interval.

The second half was a much tighter affair – and after Adam James came desperately close to scoring the Wasps struck the decisive blow.

Jojo Francis went over for a try and Lewis Murphy added the crucial extras.

The visitors then held on for the narrowest of wins.

This season, the cup has been split into two parts.

Llangwm will now play either Newport or Pembroke seconds in their section final.

On the other side of the draw, Haverfordwest seconds await the winners of Whitland or Crymych second XV in their section final.

The two section champions will then meet for the overall trophy – which is currently held by the Borderers.
