Neyland 8-41 Amman United
6:00pm Wednesday 25th April 2012 in Sport
NEYLAND rounded off a disappointing season with a heavy defeat at high flying Amman United.
The All Blacks secured only three wins from 22 starts , and had a tough day against a side who still have their eyes set on second spot in the section table.
The All Blacks opened the scoring with a penalty from Mark Riley and were only 3-12 down at half time – but then yellow cards for Riley, who could claim that his sin-binning was a little harsh, and Mark Chamberlain (for a technical offence) put them on the back foot.
Amman United then had three tries by prop Thomas Davies and others from winger Dean Williams, second row Chris Rees, wing Steffan Phillips and No 8 Carl Worsfield.
The visitors also had conversions from Rhys Thomas and Adrian Thomas (2), and all the All Blacks could muster in reply was an unconverted try by N8 Callum Tree for all their considerable efforts.
