Lawrenny (192 for 6) v Carew (163 for 4) - Match abandoned
Heavy rain cost Carew top spot in the table as they chased a target of 193 to win at Lawrenny and were well in contention at 163 for 4, with Gareth Lewis and Tom Davies batting well together.
Lawrenny’s big score of 192 for 6 owed much to Simon Cole (28) Steve Lewis (33), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (19) and Andrew Cole (18) before Rob Williams (41 not out) and Ian Jenkins (16 not out) featured in a good partnership at the end of the innings.
Tom Davies (2 for 28), Rhys Davies (3 for 48) and Scott Helmich (1 for 40) were the Carew wicket-takers.
Nick Scourfield (31), Robbie Hicks (18) and Tim Hicks (37) batted well for Carew against Jamie Lewis (2 for 290, Steve Lewis (1 for 280 and Simon Cole (1 for 39) before Gareth Lewis (32 not out) and Tom Davies (15 not out) looked solid in an unbroken stand of 36.
But then the rain fell and the match was abandoned at a very interesting stage.
