Haverfordwest (221 for 8) beat St Ishmaels (115 all out)
Haverfordwest returned to winning ways as they easily accounted for St Ishmaels on The Racecourse, picking up maximum points in the process.
Haverfordwest made steady batting progress on a damp pitch as Simon Holliday (27) and Danny Potter (34) were joined by Adam James (21), with the real impetus provided by brothers Dan and Ben Field as they shared a stand of 80 in only 39 minutes.
Dan smashed five fours and four sixes in his 52 made from only 29 balls, including one six that dented his father Mickey’s car, whilst Ben stroked five fours in his 49 before he was adjudged lbw. Mikey Jones contributed a late 15 as The Town raced to 221 for 8 against the bowling of Andrew Williams ((2 for 44 in 12 overs), Andrew Pawlett (2 for 41) and Robbie Thomas (2 for 25) Tish lost influential batsmen Peter Bradshaw and Andrew Palmer cheaply, both well caught by Adam James off the bowling of James Morris, with only Dan Howells (30), Phil Cockburn (22) and Andrew Williams (18 not out) ever looking settled. Wickets fell regularly to Morris (2 for 27), James (1 for 19), Nigel Morgan (1 for 11), Clive Tucker (2 for 24) and ‘Doc’ Holliday (4 for 27) - as The Town were good value for victory.
St Ishmaels’ match ball sponsored by Sarah Bradshaw and Brendan Moon.
Umpires: Dave Brandon and Tony Scourfield.
Scorers: Jayne Cole and Wendy Bradshaw.
