Disappointing weather for the Seasiders
12:40pm Thursday 28th June 2012 in Sport
St Ishmaels (46 for 4) v Saundersfoot (175 for 4) – Match abandoned Saundersfoot were disappointed when the rain came heavily enough to bring a premature halt to their match with St Ishmaels because they were in the driving seat.
The Seasiders had totalled 175 for 4 thanks to Nick Cope (30), Dai Davies (22), Jason Llama (19) and Tom Richards (19) before Simon Wood (42 not out) and Phil Jones (36 not out) provided the necessary late impetus against Andrew Pawlett (2 for 24), Daniel Flynn (1 for 30) and Robbie Thomas (1 for 46) Wood also looked impressive with the ball in a 2 for 16 spell where he dismissed Tish danger men Peter Bradshaw and Jonathan Pawlett, assisted by Danny Caine (1 for 4) and Richards (1 for 23) when Tish batted after tea. Dan Howells contributed 14 not out but Tish looked in a little bother at 46 for 4 when rain might just have saved their bacon.
St Ishmaels’ match ball was sponsored by Graham Parker.
Umpires: John Williams and Steve Blowes.
Scorers: Wendy Bradshaw and Hazel Poole.
