Academy take on the World

West Wales Academy of Dance who took part in World Freestyle Championships in Blackpool.
The West Wales Academy of Dance (WWAD) went to the Famous Winter Gardens in Blackpool for the World Freestyle Championships.
The children competed in slow dance and street dance solos, freestyle solos, pairs and teams events.
The weekend was a major success as they made 18 finals.
There were exceptional individual performances from Ross John, runner up in the under 16 freestyle and slow dance, and Rebecca Peake, who was crowned World youth novice slow dance champion.
Jadie Davis won the under 14 freestyle champs race and Evie Berridge was runner up in the under 8 beginners. Robyn Beveridge was third in the under 14 beginners, and Ross John and Georgia Picton second in the under 16 intermediate pairs, and Alysha Phillips and Caitlyn Leay third in the under 10 beginner pairs.
Both freestyle teams, Adult Eclipse and under 12 Midget Gems, were runners up. Company director Melissa Mcphee said she was proud of everyone involved.
