The Pembrokeshire under 14 cricket squad have reached the play-offs of their regional competition after winning one of their final two games.

The side suffered a defeat against West Glamorgan, after the opposition posted 186-6 despite good bowling from Jack  Parkinson (3-22) and Kurtis Marsh (2-28).

Pembs were then bowled out for 117 in their reply, with only Kurtis Marsh (52) and Dafydd Bevan (18) reaching double figures.

But the side recovered to perform well against Mid Glamorgan. Pembs hosted a mammoth 242-2, thanks to a superb century from Scott Jones (121) and 92 from Dafydd Bevan.

This was the highest score recorded by the team, surpassing the 202 they scored against Lincolnshire at the under 11's  Ipswich Festival.

In reply, Mid Glamorgan were bowled out for 150, with Adam Parr (3-12) starring with the ball.

Pembrokeshire have now made it through to the play offs, which is a just reward for a campaign of hard work, determination and excellent sportsmanship.
