A Kilgetty woman is gearing up for the biggest event of her career after an epic summer of dressage success.

Stefanie Dando-Jones has qualified for the Espayo National Dressage Championships in September, which she describes as the "biggest show I will ever have been to."

Stef started her summer by being crowned overall winner of the Welsh Dressage Championships, on her horse Bellevue Irish Pride. He was bred in Ludchurch at the Bellevue Stud by Isobel and Dave Scourfield. With that win, Stef and her horse qualified for the Dressage Masters in Hickstead.

She went onto win that event, the Sue Carson Welsh Championships, and the British Dressage Finals at Adlington Moor.

As a result of her success, she has now qualified for the Espayo event next month.

"This is my best season to date which is surprising," she admitted. "I only had my first child, Sophie Faye, in February of this year and I was expecting a very quiet season."

But her attention will now turn to the national championships, and she will be keen to continue her form.

Stef trains with Glenys Hemming, of Abbey Dressage, who hold regular clinics at Moor Farm, Haverfordwest.
