Goldsmith strikes Swifts' winner
1:30pm Thursday 13th September 2012 in Sport
Monkton Swifts 3
Pennar Robins 2
Arron Goldsmith struck an 85th minute winner to earn Monkton Swifts the bragging rights in this south county derby.
The visitors were awarded a penalty in the second minute that Paul Lowe easily despatched.
Straight from the kick-off and Michael Canton equalised for the Swifts.
Ben Nicholas restored the Robins’ lead in the seventh minute before Mikey Boswell buried an equaliser as the score line read 2-2 at half time.
As this derby clash ebbed and flowed it took a dramatic twist at the end when Goldsmith rifled home the winner from the edge of the box, and there was no way back for the battling Robins.
