Monkton Swifts 2

St Ishmaels 3

For the second week in a row Monkton Swifts suffered the indignity of losing on their home patch.

Last week Goodwick won 5-3 and this week St Ishmaels won by the oddgoal in five.

Tish took the lead in the 14th minute when Gareth Fawcett nodded home a well delivered free-kick in the box.

The Swifts bounced back to equalise through Michael Canton on 20 minutes, but five minutes later and the visitors restored the lead when striker Adam Davies scored from the spot to give Robbie Thomas’ Tish outfit a 2-1 cushion at half-time.

Midway through the second period and the Swifts equalised again, this time through Billy Vaughan who drove a low shot past Jonny Pawlett. Nine minutes from full Davies grabbed his second goal of the game that turned out to be the winner when he latched onto a suicide ball by a Swifts defender across his own box to earn Tish their second win on the trot.
