Vikings win at seaside
1:40pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in Sport
Tenby 1
Hakin United came from behind to secure a slender 2-1 victory over Tenby at the Clicketts.
Gary Dawes’ Vikings went one-goal behind as Daryl Mansbridge struck from an angle to score on ten minutes.
Five minutes later the Vikings equalised as veteran striker Paul Jones lobbed Seasiders’ goalkeeper Steve Escott.
The Vikings dominated the second period, but they struggled to find a way past Escott as Justin Harding, Michael Cooper and Jonah were all denied by the Seasiders’ outstanding goalkeeper.
But, four minutes from full time, the Vikings were handed a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty after Harding was tripped up in the box. Steve Allen kept his cool to easily despatch from 12-yards and secure a precious win on the road.
