Share of spoils
Glamorgan Wanderers 20
Whitland shared the spoils at Glamorgan Wanderers.
The balance of play was even throughout as the interval saw the teams share 20 points, as they did in the second period, with Scott Newton kicking the Borderers into an early three-point lead and later converting a good try from powerhouse winger Tomi Jones, while the Wanderers responded with a first half try by Lloyd Chalk to go with the conversion and then a penalty by Owen Thomas.
Whitland had several chances in the second half but could only muster a try by hooker Marc Jones as Newton notched the conversion and penalty – and the Wanderers copied their scoring with a Jack Mills’ try and another five points from Owen Thomas to make sure that honours were even at the end of a tough tussle.
