Heather netts victory

The ladies at Tenby Golf Club have held their Autumn Open meeting.

An impressive 109 players took part from four different clubs, while home representation from Tenby was strong.

Competitors played in teams of three, with the two best scores counting on each round.

The results were as follows: Team event: 1, Denise Edwards, Isabel Kent, Heather Morgan (Tenby); Gill John, Georgina Ormond, Sarah Waring (Tenby). Nearest the pin on 6th: Caroline Davies (Wenvoe); Nearest the line on 13th: Gill John (Tenby). Longest drive on 14th: Elspeth Owen (Haverfordwest).

The ladies have also played a series of other competitions lately, with Heather Morgan winning the August Medal. Sue Griffiths was second and Anita Davies third.

The winner of the Jane Davies Hughes trophy in the silver division was again Heather Morgan, and in the bronze division Georgina Ormond came out on top. The nine hole competition was won by Mary Williams.

The August Sunday Medal was won by Sarah Waring with Laura McQueen second.

The Lifeboat Spoons Charity event was also won by Heather, with 34 points.

Finally, the September GUW Medal was won by Pat Fox who shot a nett 75, and Liz Crockford won the nine hole stableford event.
