Black day for Bennett

Neyland Judo Club member Craig Bennett is celebrating after gaining enough points to claim a coveted black belt.

Craig travelled to Rochdale last month to take part in a special examination.

He had five fights, winning four of them with a variety of techniques including holds, throws and chokes.

His performance saw him gain 40 points, which brought him up to the required 100 points needed for the black belt.

Craig had previously passed the theory exam required for promotion, so has now had his name entered into the National Dan Grade register.
