You have until Friday to nominate your Pembrokeshire sporting heroes for the Sport Pembrokeshire Awards 2008.

Now’s your chance to get recognition for anyone you know who’s excelled in sport over the last year or freely given their time to coaching and organising grass roots sport. However you need to be quick, the deadline for nominations is Friday, 31st October People who were nominated last year are welcome again. The awards will be presented to the winners and finalists at a glittering ceremony at Folly Farm on Friday November 28th.

“The Sport Pembrokeshire Awards is our chance to congratulate the county’s top performers, while also recognising the hard work of coaches, teachers, club organisers and volunteers who make it all possible,” said John Deason, manager of Sport Pembrokeshire.

The categories are: Coach of the Year; Female Sporting Achievement; Male Sporting Achievement; Boys (U16) Sporting Achievement; Girls (U16) Sporting Achievement; Male Disability Sport Award; Female Disability Sport Award; Boys (U16) Disability Sport Award; Girls (U16) Disability Sport award; Unsung Hero; Club Organiser of the Year; Team Achievement of the Year; Junior (U16) Team Achievement; Primary School Teacher of the Year and Secondary School Teacher of the Year.

The main sponsors of the awards are the Western Telegraph;Chevron; Folly Farm; Radio Pembrokeshire; Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire Sports Development Council of affiliated sports clubs.

A panel from these sponsors and the Sports Council for Wales will decide the three finalists and winner in each category.
