Llanrhian (131 for 7) drew with Neyland (218 for 5)

LLANRHIAN are clearly finding it hard going in the top echelon but managed to hold on for a tame draw against Neyland at Llandigige Fawr thanks to another half century by Gareth ‘Cadfael’ Davies.

Leading the way for Neyland after they had been asked to bat first was opening bat Paul Murray.

He showed that he had refound his best form after surviving an early chance, with seven fours and four sixes before he finally departed on exactly 100.

Nick Koomen (29), Ashley Sutton (30, including four boundaries) and Andrew Miller (20 not out) were the other principal run-makers for Neyland as Gareth Davies claimed 2 for 62 and Nigel Delaney was the pick of the Llanrhian bowlers with 1 for 36 in 12 economical overs.

Davies could play for any team in the county and he stroked his way to 52 (seven boundaries) before he was removed at a vital time.

The only Llanrhian batsman to reach double figures were Ben Jones (21), Nigel Delaney (19 not out) and Geraint Morris (17).
