Neyland (138 for 5) beat Llangwm (131 all out)

Neyland claimed victory by just seven runs over close neighbours Llangwm following a nailbiting finish at the Athletic Ground.

Neyland made a positive start through skipper Gregg Miller (10) and Murray, who scored the bulk of their runs in an opening stand of 46 before he was out for 36 (including a six and four fours).

Andrew Miller chipped in with 21 but it was Nathan Banner who supplied the bulk of their runs with his excellent 60 not out that included eight boundaries.

Darren Brick was the pick of the Llangwm bowlers with 3 for 25 in his 12 overs, five of them maidens, supported by Andrew Harries (1 for 17 in 12 overs, six of them maidens) and Chris Inward (1 for 40). Joseph Kiff (29), Steve Mills (34) and Chris Inward (20) were top scorers in Llangwm’s response.

Nathan Banner earned the Neyland man of the match tag as he followed up his unbeaten innings with 3 for 19 alongside Anton John’s 1 for 28 — and then the slow stuff from Gary Lloyd and Andrew Miller prevented Llangwm from taking control.

Lloyd claimed 3 for 24 and Miller 3 for 40 and those seven runs meant Neyland picked up 28 points and Llangwm had to settle for five points.
