A £500,000 investment to bring penguins to Pembrokeshire paid off with record Whitsun visitor numbers at Folly Farm.
The tourist attraction saw a 35% increase in the amount of people on the gates, compared with previous years.
The park’s Penguin Coast opened to the public on the Friday before the bank holiday weekend and will house 24 Humboldt penguins from across Europe.
Folly Farm managing director, Chris Ebsworth: said: “This Whitsun was the busiest we’ve ever experienced since opening 25 years ago and we are positive that our 24 new additions will continue to draw in visitors to Folly Farm and Pembrokeshire throughout the summer.”
