A PUPIL from Woodthorpe Primary School has organised a sponsored dog walk tomorrow in aid of the Dogs Trust.
Five-year-old Cameron Dickson, of Woodthorpe, will be taking his own rescue dog Nelly, a black labrador cross, on the walk to boost funds for the largest dog welfare charity in the UK.
Cameron will be walking round the cricket field on Knavesmire and is hoping many of his classmates will be joining him on the charitable circuit.
The primary school has helped to arrange the event and get sponsor forms to the pupils.
The young dog lover has already collected £60 in sponsorship from friends and family and is expecting this total to rise when it is combined with what the rest of his class have raised.
