A YOUNG entrepreneur, who will carry the Olympic torch, has won a bursary to help launch his website.

Sam Calvert, 20, who will run on Preston New Road, Blackburn, on Saturday, is one of the first recipients of the Pennine Lancashire Youth Enterprise Fund.

The bursary will go towards Bright Cloud Resources, a website which will allow teachers to download handouts, videos and presentations, as well as upload their own tried and tested lesson plans.

Sam, of Blackburn, said: “It’s an important year for me, as not only am I carrying the flame, but my own business is finally about to take off."

Steve Hoyle, managing director of Regenerate, said, “We are really pleased to be able to help young people like Sam, who have great ideas and determination.”
