Manchester United’s move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could be held up by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian midfielder, who has fallen out of favour with United boss Jose Mourinho this season, could be heading in the other direction as part of the move.

But Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola has claimed if the former Borussia Dortmund man decided against moving to London, Sanchez’s deal would be off.

He told the Times: “Manchester United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal. Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. Sanchez is part of the Mkhi deal, not the other way around.”

Chelsea had been linked with a move for Sanchez, but boss Antonio Conte played that down in a press conference.

Asked if Chelsea were actively seeking to sign the Chilean, Conte said: “I don’t know. I don’t think so. I don’t know, but I don’t think so.”

One move that is growing close is Theo Walcott to Everton.

The England and Arsenal winger is expected on Merseyside for a medical on Tuesday ahead of a £20million move, Press Association Sport understands.

The 28-year-old has scored 108 goals in 397 matches for Arsenal, but has not started a Premier League game since April.

Arsenal could be busy this month. They are reportedly looking to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as Bordeaux winger Malcom as they look to prepare for life after Sanchez and Walcott.

Aubameyang has been linked with a £50million move to the Gunners in a number of national newspapers, while the Gabon goalscorer was pictured alongside an individual wearing a scarf containing Arsenal’s colours on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph is reporting Premier League leaders Manchester City have turned their attention to Shakhtar’s Brazilian midfielder Fred and could be making a move this month.

As is custom during a transfer window, Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to Manchester United.

The Real Madrid star is reportedly unhappy with not being offered a new contract at the Bernabeu, according to Spanish outlet AS.
