Pennar Robins 1

Monkton Swifts 0

PENNAR Robins deservedly edged this derby and completed the double over their arch-rivals Monkton Swifts at Bush Camp.

Earlier in the season the Robins won by the same margin, and this time the winner was struck by Phil Thompson in the 30th minute. The striker showed cool composure as he lobbed keeper Lance Creese who was well off his line from the edge of the area.

This win was no more than what the Robins deserved with Adam John putting in a man-of-the match cameo role in midfield that would have pleased Robins’ co-managers Dean Driscoll and Gavin Southcott.

Last night, Monkton Swifts played in the semi-final of the Senior Cup against Tenby at the Bridge Meadow.
