HAVERFORDWEST'S Jason Davies came away from the final event of the Classic Touring Car Championships in Belgium with a class championship win to his name.

The meeting took place at the Spa Circuit and motor vehicle technician Jason qualified sixth on the grid - the first of the Burton Power Blue Oval cars.

Race one was a gruelling half hour battle but it was Davies who took the win, fastest lap and class championship.

In race two, Davies found blistering pace in his Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, until lap seven of 10 when he encountered visibility problems, and finished 10th overall.

"I had a close miss with an escort I just couldn’t see, but the race was awesome and the experience a dream."

"I would like to thank MSE Race Engines, Matthew Corby, Mel Williams tyres, Ceri Morgan and the pit crew who made all this possible."
